The Alabama Legislative Internship Program was established to involve student interns in the state legislature by allowing them to observe and participate in the legislative process of state government.
The internship coincides with the 2021 Regular Session of the Legislature. Interns report to the State House in Montgomery a few days prior to the start of the session and work 32 hours per week until the end of the session. Most Alabama colleges and universities will approve college credit for this internship if coordinated in advance.
"This internship was one of the best experiences of my life. I got to meet new people, learn new things, and figure out a lot about myself...I cannot put into words how amazing this experiences was. The friendships I made will last a lifetime. The staff and members were amazing and made me feel welcome from day one. I can't wait to see what my future will be, but I know it will be because of this internship!" Andrea, Legislative Intern, 2016
